Founding of the Kettling company by Otto Kettling in Plettenberg-Böddinghausen as a wholesale business for screws and fasteners.
Registration of the company “Kettling & Co. KG” in the commercial register by Otto and Friedrich Wilhelm Kettling on November 30th, 1940.

The brothers Friedrich Wilhelm and Otto Kettling fall out. The company “Otto Kettling” splits from “Kettling & Co. KG.” The drop forge “Otto Kettling” manufactures non-standard screws and fasteners.
Otto Kettling dies later that year – his son Fritz Kettling takes over the business.
Relocation of the “Otto Kettling” drop forge from Plettenberg-Böddinghausen to Altena-Altroggenrahmede.
Addition of wire bending parts to the product range.
Opening of a second company plant in Altena-Evingsen for pressed and stamped parts with its own electroplating facility and opening of a third plant in Altena-Mühlenrahmede as a turning shop for car spikes.
5,000 square meters of building area is purchased in Werdohl-Dresel, in order to centralize all “Otto Kettling” plants over the next two years.
Company “Otto Kettling” files for bankruptcy.
Fritz Kettling founds “Kettling Verbindungselemente GmbH” as a trading company for wire bending and threaded parts in Plettenberg-Böddinghausen.
The company relocates to Plettenberg-Köbbinghausen. A production hall is rented for the resumption of production of wire and threaded parts, which is still part of the production facility today.
The production hall is purchased and an office wing is built next to it.
Thomas Kettling joins the company on November 1st, 1990. Three months later, Fritz Kettling passes away and his son takes over the management of the company.
Construction of a modern, second production and storage hall and implementing of the large photovoltaic system on the roof of the old production hall.
2015
Lars Kettling joins the family business and gradually takes over production management.
2024
Lea Kettling joins the family business to provide support in the commercial department.
